William Hazlitt

William Hazlitt (1778-1830) was a prominent British essayist, literary critic, and philosopher, born in Maidstone, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. He is best known for his writings on literature and art, as well as his insightful critiques of contemporary society. Hazlitt spent much of his life in London, where he contributed significantly to the literary landscape of his time.
