Saint Augustine

Saint Augustine (354-430) was a prominent philosopher and theologian from Thagaste, in Ancient Rome. He is best known for his influential works on Christian doctrine, including "Confessions" and "The City of God." Augustine spent much of his life in Hippo Regius, where he served as bishop and contributed significantly to Western Christianity.
