Raymond Chandler

Raymond Chandler (1888-1959) was an American author born in Chicago. He is best known for his contributions to the detective fiction genre, particularly through his creation of the iconic private investigator Philip Marlowe. Chandler spent his later years in La Jolla, California, where he continued to write until his death.
