Hermann Hesse

Hermann Hesse (1877-1962) was a German author born in Calw. He is best known for his novels exploring themes of self-discovery and spirituality, including "Steppenwolf" and "Siddhartha." Hesse spent his later years in Montagnola, where he continued to write and create art.
