Arthur Schopenhauer

Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) was a German philosopher born in Gdańsk, in the Kingdom of Prussia. He is best known for his works on pessimism and the nature of human desire, particularly in his seminal text, "The World as Will and Representation." Schopenhauer spent much of his life in Frankfurt, where he developed his philosophical ideas.
